When Suryakant Furniture was established in 1968 in Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar), Maharashtra, timber furniture was not treated as disposable home staging. A dining table was expected to endure thirty years of hot steel vessels and festival feasts. A mandir sanctum was carved once and handed down to the next generation. A living room sofa suite was built to bear the weight of full family gatherings without ever creaking or sagging.
Over the past 58 years, while furniture retail moved rapidly toward plastic laminates, chemical glues, and compressed paper boards (MDF), our showroom on Pipeline Road maintained a steadfast refusal: we build exclusively with 100% solid, kiln-seasoned timber.
Kiln-Dried Central Teak Timber
We select timber seasoned over thousands of hours to reach equilibrium moisture content. This prevents seasonal expansion, twisting, and wood shrinkage.
Interlocking Tenon Joinery
Instead of weak nails or temporary drywall screws, every structural frame interlocks wood into wood—creating a mechanical bond that stays firm for decades.
What We Intentionally Refuse
Much of modern online furniture is designed to look attractive in a thumbnail for six months before moisture deteriorates its core. At Suryakant Furniture, we guarantee:
- Zero particle board: We never use wood dust or compressed agricultural residue in any load-bearing part.
- Zero paper veneers: Real single-grain Sheesham and solid Teak surfaces, buffed with natural oil wax so the grain can breathe.
- Zero manufactured claims: Every photo on our website was taken inside our showroom or in homes we furnished across Ahilyanagar.
